 She grew up in a low income farm family. Her family, for generations had a small home and land that they grew vegetables and fruits to eat and sell on the market in the next town.  Her parents were both hardworking farmers and they expected her to follow in their footsteps. As much as she wanted to please her parents, deep down farming was not what she wanted in life, she wanted to sing and be in the opera. Her reluctance to farm caused some tension between her and her parents, especially her father. . Despite all of this they still loved each other and tried to keep the small house peaceful despite the hardship. It wasn't the ideal childhood but it was happy and loving. 
For 16 years the small family struggled to make ends meet but somehow they managed. 

Everyone had to work real hard to make the harvest work. Tragically, a few weeks after her 16th birthday , her father was killed. He was shot while working in the fields. No one knows who did it but it is assumed it was a novice hunter who either could not tell her father was not game or someone who just had horrible aim. The loss of her father made it hard to survive and both Colette and her mother became very ill in the winter of that same year. Colette eventually recovered and did her best to help her mother , it wasn't enough and she too passed on. Before she passed away she handed her daughter her most precious possession a necklace. The chain was silver and was a gift from her husband when they first gotten married. On the chain was a a beautiful key , a key that was given to her from her own mother. The mother explained to Colette that they key was a special one that was passed through the generations. They knew it had to open something special but they didn't know what and thought it was best to just leave it at that. They were all happy at the little farm and deep down afraid of finding  out things. 

Colette and her mother then had a last chat and went to bed. Colette woke up , her mother never did, a soft smile still etched on her mother's face. 
Colette did her best to keep the home but without the help of her parents she couldn't farm enough to pay and lost the land and home due to foreclosure. She had nothing to lose, as she had lost it all and decided to find what door her mother's key unlocked. She only had a old suitcase that held her most important things, Her father's old hat (she uses it to collect coins and money, his old pocket watch, her mothers old photo album and fluffy shawl and some of her own clothes. She sold almost everything else, not that there was much to sell. 

After selling and making as much money as she could she went on a year long journey to find where her key led. Deep down she hoped for it to open a treasure room. She did what she could to survive and save money. It took a while but she managed to find the manor after asking around and gaining clues.

During her travels she learned fly but rarely used to it due to the pain but stepping into the manor made the process so much easier and almost painless. It can be assumed the magic n the place helped with the transformation.

To pass some time she tends to spend in her room and doesn't leave it much unless it s getting food or go thrift shopping. Sometimes in the town she can be heard singing for money. It is easier to find Colette in town since it is harder for her to hide. She tends to hide n the danker corners or in rooms with music. You can draw her out if you play music or sing.

Despite her desire to perform in theatre, she is a very quite and unassuming young lady. She doesn't really does not stand out in a crowd but she is memorable due to how well dressed she is despite how poor she is. Her escape is fashion and tends to stalk some nice thrift stores to get nice clothes, going out of her way to go where 'the rich people" donate clothes. It is her way of dealing with the world. However if there nice she tends to keep them in her room and not wear them unless it is a party, special occasion or posing in the mirror in her room. She seems to glow when she wears pretty dresses and historical costumes and she seems to be more animated and more lively. Her timid nature seems to be her default personality however and she tends to hide herself in baggy clothes and roomy hoodies


She is young and on her own. Most of her day she makes money by singing in places and hope she gets a few coins and at night keeps trying and trying to audition to shows but can never quite get in the final cut. It is not because she lacks talent, she just lacks some of the stage presence and polish that is needed to make it big in theater. She only shows a bit of her charm when she performs but it is hardly enough. Due to her quiet nature , she has a hard time talking to people as she doesn't have much to speak about. This makes it a bit hard for her to open up and make friends or even to ask for help. She is however good at listening to people and can bounce off what people are saying. She also loves hearing stories and will sit and listen with full attention. She feels stories are a nice distraction and give her nice inspiration.

She also is not very clever. She didn't have the chance to have much schooling as she was needed to help on the fields. She can read and write at a basic level, just enough to read a script or song lyrics. However, she does have a good memory. She can memorize songs. stories and scripts after hearing them once or twice, She can also be quite imaginative and come up with little stories although she usually keeps her little made up stories to herself. It is something to keep her mind occupied and off from all the troubles in her life. She also tends to daydream a lot , wondering what it is like to live like a noble or even a princess.

She is a bit bi-curious but is very quiet about it. She does get crushes on beautiful people and can come on as a bit stalkerish when she does get intersted. However these crushes are short lived usually as the people are unobtainable (such as celebrities) She is in love with the concept of love and beauty.
